DO YOU LIKE INVENTIONS?!
Well, now that our nation has survived the Civil War and the Reconstruction period, we can focus on capitalism, fortunes and innovation - those aspects that helped make AMERICA a strong nation in our past! (and maybe we'll learn from mistakes we made along the way)...

Y'all know how I prefer playing games than just doing assignments and work..
...boooo-rrrr-inggggg!

Well, we have talked about there being "HOLES" in the reading questions (blanks you will not find in the reading but will be answered in class while you take your notes). We will be playing a new game to make this more enjoyable - you'll hear more this week!

[REMEMBER to TAKE NOTES - either jot down what you learn from the reading in your notebooks, or paste a printout in your notebook and highlight - THIS IS NOT OPTIONAL! YOUR NOTEBOOKS WILL BE GRADED ON TEST DAYS!]

In attempts to encourage everyone to study BEFORE the tests in Social Studies, as well as make sure you know the material, you are not finished with your test!
AFTER EVERY TEST IN MY CLASS you will be required to complete a TYPED test correction. This will include:
  • the TEST (it MUST be attached to the Test Corrections for credit)
  • the CORRECT ANSWER (for all incorrect answer on your test)
  • an EXPLANATION why the correct answer is correct (yes - you may have to do some extra work to find an explanation. I will not accept simple answers, like "Because it's right." or "Because Mr. Johnson said so." Give me real research from a real source - YES you must provide the source in MLA style!!!)
So get ready to go through your test, find the correct answers and TYPE out your corrections by the following Thursdays of each test (that's this coming Thursday for last week's test)....

...OR STUDY BEFOREHAND!!!

ASSIGNMENT VALUE: 20 points
[By the way, if you had a 100% on last week's test, you automatically have 20 points for this assignment - good job!]
