TIMES TWO!
There are two grades due on the day just before Christmas Break (December 19th) that could HELP your grade (or HURT it).
More importantly ~ it will help your mind learn important things!
(I know....that sounds hokey...but it's true...)

You will have due:
  • NHD Notecard Outline Compilation Assignment - 50 points to you individually + 50 points for your team assembly of ALL your team notecards. You must have your personal research notecards compiled before class (I will be grading those first thing) - then you will have time in class to assemble all your team cards into one grouping.
***By the way - I REALLY recommend you get a notecard holder, container or box as listed on the class supply list!!!
Click here for the assignment details and rubric.

  • Declaration of Independence Preamble TEST - it is 107 words - you will write out the entire Preamble for 100 points! (I will give you 7 missed words right off the bat to still have 100 points)
Click here in case you lost your copy of the Declaration of Independence

SUBJECT: The Declaration of Independence in the Progressive Era (The Women's Rights Movement)
"We hold these truths to be self-evident: that all men and women are created equal; that they are endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable rights; that among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness..."

July 2, 1776 - July 19, 1848
The Declaration of Independence and the Declaration of Sentiments...
Both documents declared for freedom. Both were based on the idea of independent and free men ~ and WOMEN!
This week we will discuss the foundational document that made America - but another document that was voiced in the early Women's Rights Movement - and into the Progressive Era...

Should not the phrase "all men" include "all women"?

NO READING THIS WEEK

We will finish the questions on the Declaration of Independence in class this week...
